Who we are…
Catherine and Stephen Bunn – Having camped and caravanned since young, both Catherine and Stephen have a passion for campervans and motorhomes. Catherine established Highland Campervans in 2007 with a small hire fleet, but the business has developed over the years to become the specialist centre in the Highlands for Motorhomes and Campervans. Out-growing its first premises, Highland Campers moved to Kerrowaird (an old diary farm) in 2010. After some renovations and updates, the old milking parlour was transformed into an accessories shop, whilst the cow barn was re-born as an NCC Approved Workshop run by Stephen. The farm-yard area was landscaped and the NCC Approved Motorhome Dealership took shape.
Michael Taylor – Michael joined Highland Campervans as General Manager in December 2013. Prior to his role here, Michael was responsible for managing the Law and Philosophy Divisional Office at the University of Stirling and prior to that he spent 19 years in the Financial Services industry. A self-proclaimed ‘lover of all things outdoors’, Michael, his wifeÂ and young son have happily taken the opportunity to try out the Highland Campervans hire fleet, in addition to trips away in their own VW campervan. Michael looks forward to meeting Highland Campervans’ many customers in the coming months.
Joanne Page – Jo joined Highland Campervans in March 2015 as Hospitality Co-ordinator, assuming responsibility for all aspects of our hire fleet. She previously owned and ran a 4 star guest house in Inverness, and so has excellent experience in the Highland hospitality industry. Jo is delighted to be able to transfer her skills across to her new role, welcoming hire customers to Highland Campervans and assisting them with every step of their holiday. Jo has already been away on her first campervan trip in the Ford Terrier and now cannot wait to try out the whole fleet!
Stephen Fraser – Steph joined Highland Campervans in January 2015 as General Assistant, having temped with us since September 2014. His background is in Graphic Design, where he studied at Newcastle-Under-Lyme College. Having worked for various companies including Whiteroom Brand Design in Leamington Spa, he designed for outdoor industry clients such as Merrell Footwear, Giant Bicycles, and Timberland. Steph, his wife and two sons (and Bernie the dog) love the outdoors and are always off walking at the weekends. He also loves canoeing, kayaking and surfing the reason he moved up to the Highlands!
Hannah Blyth – Hannah joined the team in December 2014 as a Strategic Tourism Analyst Intern looking at the campervan industry in Scotland, and will be staying on as General Hospitality Assistant, helping with the hire fleet until August 2015 before she heads off travelling. After growing up in the Scottish Highlands and graduating in Ecology from Aberdeen in 2014, Hannah is passionate about Scotland, the environment and the great outdoors. Although she is learning to drive this has not prevented Hannah from getting away in a campervan – her and her mum have recently been across to the west coast where they had a fantastic time at Gairloch.
Hades – Chief mouse-catcher and guardian of the workshop. Hades joined the Highland Campervans team in 2010 and works very hard at keeping small creatures away from the farm buildings. Adopted from a rescue centre who were struggling to find a home for his ‘anti-social’ tendencies, Hades joined the business with his bed in the barns. He has since decided that Kerrowaird Farm and Highland Campervans is his ideal home – and his anti-social tendencies have (almost) disappeared! Hades is an outdoor cat and is not supposed to be inside the reception or campervans – please feel free to nudge him outside if he sneaks his way in!
Daniel – Workshop Technician. Daniel joined Highland Campervans in March 2014 after moving up from Oxfordshire. He has over 12 years experience in the motortrade from bikes to trucks and he now enjoys learning about all the new challenges involved in working with campervans and caravans. He has passed various qualifications over the past year to endorse his skills and transfer his prior knowledge to the motorhome sector, but he will continue to head away on training courses for particular products and applicances over the coming year.
Neil – Accounts Advisor. Neil joined the team in summer 2011 to help Catherine and Stephen keep a financial eye on the growing business. With huge investments in the workshop and shop, Neil looks at the numbers behind the scenes and checks that each area of the business is healthy and growing steadily. An invaluable asset to any business!
Summer Intern – We offer a paid summer placement for an undergraduate looking to gain valuable work experience prior to completing their degree. Please contact us if you would like to receive details of the summer internship. We are happy to work with universities if assessments are required towards degree modules.
We are also very proud to have won several awards for Highland Campervans. We do work really hard for our customers and genuinely try our best to ensure that we meet the highest levels of customer service.
