Wight Trash

  • 557

We are a company from, and inspired by, the Isle of Wight and started (officially) in 2004. Although Wight Trash started a long time before that as a phrase, we as friends, would call each other.

Logo T-shirts were made first, and then sold to friends and family then we did hoodies and then skateboards too. We always produce the best clothing and skateboards that are all ethically sourced. We have a rag tag kickass team of misfits using and testing out all this good stuff. The team comprises of friends both old and new who are skating hard, being freakish, and generally helping make our 2014/15/16 (somewhen) full length video YEAH WIGHT! video into something oddly special.

We have been really lucky to have 2 of our skateboarding heroes involved with us as guest riders. First was Alex Moul and then Kris Markovich and our 3rd planned rider is someone else who had a massive influence on mine and many thousands of other skaters in the late 80s and 90s too. Will keep you updated through our news feed with all that.

Wight Trash also does yearly events and competitions, and we’ll be trying our hand at a Wight Record this year with the most kickflip fakies at the same time on Go Skateboarding Day (June 21st) at Simeon Street bowl in Ryde. Videos and photos to be seen on site soon after.

2014 means we’ve been doing this WT crazy sheet for 10 years now, so expect a big party towards the end of Summer. You’re all invited obviously.

Also if you want to help us fix up Ventnor skatepark go to the Music section of our shop and buy Volumes 1 and 2 of TRANSITIONS. It’s a compilation CD of the cream of Island music and you’ll find an honorary Islander on there too, in the form of Alex Moul aka Mouly. The entire £10 you spend will go to the Ventnor Skatepark fund and help us fix up and improve Ventnor Park.
